Frequently Asked Questions
1.Can the Flow Monitor be used with other pumps?
No. The Flow Monitor was designed to only work with our systems.
2.What is the minimum flow the Flow Monitor will detect?
The approximate flow rate that will activate the Flow Monitor is 0.17 gpm. That's the flow rate when a drip becomes a stream of water.
3.Can the Flow Monitor be used with any Faster Hot Water System system?
Yes. For use with the dedicated return systems the connector shown in the picture above is cut off and the outside sheathing stripped to reveal 2 wires. These wires can be stripped so that they will connect with our controllers.
4.Can the direction of flow be changed?
Yes. There are 4 screws attaching the electronics to the body of the Flow Monitor. They can be removed and the entire electronics section can be rotated 180°.
5.Do the Flow Monitors require maintenance?
Maybe. In areas with high mineral content the Flow Monitor may need to be opened up and soaked in vinegar.
6.Can the Flow Monitor be used in 1" or larger pipes?
Yes. We have developed a simple Bypass system so that the Flow Monitor can be used in pipes up to 2 1/2".
